Life Without Sin

Daily Reading // Isaiah 14:1-21

READY // SILENCIO

Take a moment to quiet your mind and prepare your heart for your time with the Lord.

READ // LECTIO

Read the passage above up to three times aloud. Allow yourself to feel the words as they are read.

REFLECT // MEDITATIO

Now direct your focus on the words, phrases concepts or sentences that got your attention. What is God speaking to you today through His word?

Isaiah 14:7 The whole earth is at rest [and] quiet; They break forth into singing.

These verses in chapter 14 refer, either figuratively or literally, to Satan. Verse 7 describes the rest and rejoicing that will take place when he is out of the way. Can you imagine a world with no sin? A world where there is no greed, selfishness, conflict, pride, disease or pain? That’s the rest we really need. And it is coming! It’s just a matter of time universally. But I will do all I can to rid my life of sin and its effects TODAY.

RESPOND // ORATIO

Pray in response to what the Lord has spoken to you.

Lord, You have give me freedom from sin and its enslaving power in my life. I choose to take up that freedom today. Sin is not a pleasure, it is truly a prison.

Tomorrow’s reading -> Isaiah 14:22-32
