S // SCRIPTURE

Select a verse from today’s reading

1 Corinthians 16:10 (NKJV) And if Timothy comes, see that he may be with you without fear; for he does the work of the Lord, as I also do.

O // OBSERVATION

Why did this verse get your attention? Make a simple observation from the text

Paul was using his relationship with the believers in Corinth to benefit Timothy. The Corinthians knew Paul and had trust in him. Timothy didn’t know the Corinthians and they didn’t know him. But they all knew Paul. Based on that common relationship they trusted and cared for each other.

A // APPLICATION

How can I apply this to my life today?

Timothy was ‘a friend of a friend’ to those in Corinth.

Relationship is the key to trust. Trust can be transferred through relationship. The Corinthians and Timothy had no reason to trust each other. But all of them trusted Paul and were able to transfer that trust, at Paul’s direction.

Never take lightly the trust given in relationships. Use your trust in relationships to sponsor relationship for others.

P // PRAYER

Express yourself in prayer

Jesus, My relationship with all other believers is because of our common relationship with You. Thank You for those relationships! Amen.
