S // SCRIPTURE

Select a verse from today’s reading

Isaiah 40:11 (NKJV) He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, And carry them in His bosom, And gently lead those who are with young.

O // OBSERVATION

Why did this verse get your attention? Make a simple observation from the text

Jesus is aware of our circumstances. He is aware of the challenges which may make things a little more difficult.

Lambs may need to be gathered with an arm because they are more vulnerable, easily distracted and more difficult to lead. He knows. He understands. He gathers them in His arm.

Those lambs may have a greater sense of fear. He holds them close to Him.

Those who are with young have an additional challenge that makes things harder. They can’t be driven hard, like others can be. They need to be treated with care. He gently leads those that are with young.

He gathers, He carries, He gently leads as the situation requires.

A // APPLICATION

How can I apply this to my life today?

God is aware of my circumstances and special needs. He is not only aware, but He adapts according to my needs.

If only I understood how many times His care for me was adjusted because of my particular situation, I would be amazed.

I can trust Him to accomplish His purposes in me. And He is doing it according to my particular needs. He is a Good Shepherd!

P // PRAYER

Express yourself in prayer

Jesus, Your care for me is shown everyday. I trust You with my strengths and my weaknesses. Amen.
