Psalms 116:15 (NKJV) Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.
O // OBSERVATION
Why did this verse get your attention? Make a simple observation from the text
This passage seems almost callous and ruthless at first. Why would the Lord take pleasure at all in the death of anyone, especially the deaths of His saints? Who would take pleasure in that?
Then you realize this verse is talking about perspective. It gives us a new vantage point. A home plate umpire crouches behind the center not because it is the most comfortable position but because it gives him the best vantage point for calling balls and strikes.
Seeing something from a different perspective may give you an entirely different understanding of it.
This verse calls us to a different perspective on death. For us on this side of death, it is the end.
From God’s perspective it is the beginning for His saints. Death for Him is like birth to us. Real life begins at death for those who have relationship with Him.
A // APPLICATION
How can I apply this to my life today?
Death doesn’t have to be a fearful thing. It is where eternal life begins.
Jesus took the sting out of death by beating it with His resurrection. Now death has a whole new meaning.
P // PRAYER
Express yourself in prayer
Lord, Death would terrify me if it weren’t for Your victory over death. You have made it a new beginning for me. Amen.
Yes but I still wanna be see my great grandbabies grow up…🤷🏼♀️😘😂
