All I Need Is The Rock

SCRIPTURE:

“He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:48‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

OBSERVATION:

This portion of Jesus’ parable is not about someone just doing enough to get by and is only prepared for good possibilities. This is someone who puts in extra work just in case storms come. And they do. Even if this storm had not come this extra work would not have been wasted. Peace of mind is never a waste.

APPLICATION:

Don’t just do the minimum and take the easy way out. Be prepared. And when challenges come don’t be surprised. Be ready for storms. When they come stand firm on the Rock, our firm foundation. Nothing but confident faith in Jesus will get us through.

PRAYER:

Jesus, You are my Rock. There is no storm stronger than You. Amen.
