S // SCRIPTURE
Select a verse from today’s reading
Ezra 6:14 (NKJV) So the elders of the Jews built, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they built and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the command of Cyrus, Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.
O // OBSERVATION
Why did this verse get your attention? Make a simple observation from the text
It caught my attention today the the success of those who built the temple was due to multiple sources, a very uncommon partnership.
God used the builders, the prophets, the commandments of God and the kings of Persia. I’m sure the motivation of each were a bit different but God used them all to accomplish His purposes.
A // APPLICATION
How can I apply this to my life today?
God can and does use many different means to accomplish His purposes. Don’t be surprised when outside forces work against you and don’t be surprised when they work for you. In either case, God’s purposes will be accomplished.
This is another reminder for me to do whatever part God has determined for me. Those who built were instrumental in this accomplishment and so was the word of those who prophesied.
P // PRAYER
Express yourself in prayer
God, What part do You have for me today? I will be faithful to Your assignment. Amen.
Very encouraging and totally lines up with my thoughts as I pray about the things that have been going on in my personal life and the lives of others thank you
