Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?”
John 20:15 NKJV
When Jesus asked Mary why she was weeping and whom she was seeking He already knew the answer to both questions. He knew why she was weeping. He knew whom she was seeking. He didn’t ask the questions to get information. He asked her the questions because He cared, and to give her the chance to process what was going on.
Asking questions is a great way to show people they matter. Most people are so busy showing what they know that they don’t have time to ask questions.
Do I care enough to ask questions? Do I listen carefully and thoughtfully to the answers? It is a way to focus on others and away from me.
Care about what other people think and feel. Ask about it. Listen to them.
Today I will look for opportunities to ask others about them.
Jesus, You care about me and listen to me in this same way. I love You Lord. Amen.
