Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.
Romans 16:17 NKJV
There were those in the church of Rome, just as there are in any group of people, who were causing divisions. They were polarizing and were causing people to pick sides within the community.
They were also causing offenses. They were doing things to others within the community that were inappropriate. All of this was contrary to biblical living.
What does Paul say to do to these people? Avoid them. Stay away from them. Don’t engage them. Don’t get sucked into their drama. Just avoid them.
