Then Simon answered and said, “Pray to the Lord for me, that none of the things which you have spoken may come upon me.”
Acts 8:24 NKJV
I think Simon was basically a good guy. He believed, was baptized and joined Phillip in his ministry. He just got a little sideways and was drawn back to his old habits. When he was confronted and rebuked he responded well and asked the apostles to pray for him.
All of us can get a little off track sometimes. It doesn’t mean our salvation is in question. It just means we need to repent and get back to healthy habits.
I also may need to help someone who has veered off path. Don’t count them out.
