For we walk by faith, not by sight.
II Corinthians 5:7 NKJV
Paul was trying to encourage his readers in Corinth to live differently than the world around them. Everyone lives by what they see, know, feel and experience. That would be great if this physical world was all there was. But it’s not.
Sight can really get in the way sometimes. I think about competitive shooters who sometimes wear a patch on one eye to focus their vision. Or those who are born blind and often develop stronger senses of hearing, smell, etc.
Does my vision of this world get in the way of seeing the spiritual world? Absolutely.
