And do not think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.
Matthew 3:9 NKJV
God could make lifeless stones His children. It is within His ability but it isn’t His desire. He chose us not because He had to but because He wanted to.
This is a great reminder that God chose me. He wasn’t stuck with me. He could’ve fulfilled His plan with any part of creation. He chose people. He chose me.
And He leaves me, He leaves everyone, to make a choice. The unforced choice goes both ways.
Father, I am thrilled that You would chose me. I am affirmed today by Your choice. Amen.
