Mattithiah of the Levites, the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, had the trusted office over the things that were baked in the pans.
I Chronicles 9:31 NKJV
It is interesting to me to think about the specialization among those who ministered in the temple. From making spices and oils to taking care of furnishings to being over things baked in pans, everyone had their appointed place of service.
I know it’s very easy to devalue your own role and envy to role of someone else. I wonder if those baking in pans ever thought, “I wish I could make the spices…” or “Those furniture guys got it made…” Each role was essential and needed.
I wish, in the Body of Christ today there was this kind of devotion to a given role. Just think if everyone committed to their role and saw it as essential. What a great team that would be.
Father, Thank You for the role within Your Body that You have given me. May I be found faithful. Amen.
