Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men.
Titus 3:1-2 NKJV
By reading this chapter, I feel like the people of Crete where Titus was ministering were a lot like the people in our culture. They needed to be reminded to obey the government, treat people nicely, be gentle instead of argumentative, not get caught up with divisive topics or divisive people.
This is part of our gospel message. We are different from the culture around us. Salvation changes the way we treat people. If I get sucked into the same behaviors I see around me, I lessen my testimony. It’s not worth it.
Let me remind you: Don’t be a Cretan.
Jesus, The world didn’t change You. You changed the world. Make me like You. Amen.
