Don’t Be A Pretender

And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah has not turned to Me with her whole heart, but in pretense,” says the Lord.

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭3:10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The northern tribe of Israel blatantly turned from God and paid the price for it. The southern tribe of Judah were pretenders. They pretended to serve the Lord but in reality they were just as guilty of idolatry and godlessness. You can’t fool God. Pretending doesn’t help.

There are many pretenders today. Outwardly they give the appearance of godliness. Inwardly they trust themselves, treat people cruelly, won’t help those in need, don’t pray or spend time in the Word and don’t give from their finances to God. Don’t be a pretender.

Lord, I live for You in reality, not in pretense. Expose any pretense in me. Amen.
