Don’t Miss Out

sorrowing most of all for the words which he spoke, that they would see his face no more. And they accompanied him to the ship.

Paul knew that he was about to face ‘chains and tribulation’. He could handle that. The thing that seemed to weigh on him the most was not seeing the face of his friends any more.

Paul went to Ephesus to preach the gospel. He didn’t know anyone there and faced opposition. In spite of that he made dear friends. He stayed there three years and made lifelong friends.

Real ministry can only be done through deep relationship. It can’t be avoided and shouldn’t be avoided. These people had such a deep love for each other. It didn’t bother them to hear savage wolves would come in among them. But it bothered them that they would see his face no more.

Ministry is borne on the wings of relationship. People that try to get in and out of church without really relating with others don’t know what they’re missing. They’re missing the very essence of what church is all about.

Don’t be afraid of deep relationships.

Father, Today I think about all the deep relationships I have because of church. Thank You for that indescribable gift. Amen.
