... saying, “Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man’s blood on us!”
Acts 5:28 NKJV
Look at the spin and deception that was at work even 2,000 years ago.
The council’s words to the disciples were, “you intend to bring this Man’s blood on us”. In other words, you’re trying to make us guilty of Jesus’ blood.
They were guilty of His blood! They had plotted and arrested and coerced His crucifixion. They didn’t mind being the ones who killed Him, but they didn’t want to bear the blame for it.
This reminds me so much of the world we live in today. People want to do whatever wicked thing they desire - but don’t you dare call them on it. Don’t you dare hold them accountable for their actions.
The apostles didn’t make them guilty. They were guilty. The Bible doesn’t make people sinners. We are sinners. The Bible just points it out.
Jesus, Thank You again for giving Your life for me. Amen.
