Romans 8:9 (NKJV) But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.
O // OBSERVATION
Why did this verse get your attention? Make a simple observation from the text
Salvation is more than a transaction that gets me heaven when I die. When I accept His salvation I am changed. The Spirit of God dwells with me. I have the benefit of His Spirit living in me.
When they laid Lazarus in the tomb he was a body without a spirit. When Jesus called to him he emerged, not as a body without a spirit, but filled again with a spirit.
Since that day I called out to Him, Jesus’ Spirit has been living in me.
A // APPLICATION
How can I apply this to my life today?
When I read this verse this morning I thought about how different my life has been since giving my life to Jesus. The wasn’t just one directional change, or one ‘blip’ on the radar. My entire life has been radically different.
Every day of my life is different because of that day many, many years ago. I don’t have to strive for it, I just am. I think differently. I act differently. I plan and make decisions differently.
Sometimes it’s easier to see the change looking over the long haul.
The miracle isn’t a one-time affair. It is on-going.
I am thankful for what He has done in my life. Everyday.
P // PRAYER
Express yourself in prayer
Jesus, Sometimes I limit You and fail to realize You are working in me every single day. Today I remember and I thank You for Your faithfulness. Amen.
