Faithfulness and Truth

Daily Reading // Isaiah 25:1-12

READY // SILENCIO

Take a moment to quiet your mind and prepare your heart for your time with the Lord.

READ // LECTIO

Read the passage above up to three times aloud. Allow yourself to feel the words as they are read.

REFLECT // MEDITATIO

Now direct your focus on the words, phrases concepts or sentences that got your attention. What is God speaking to you today through His word?

Isaiah 25:1 O LORD, You are my God. I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, For You have done wonderful things; Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

Faithfulness and truth are two qualities in particularly short supply these days. God is full of faithfulness and truth. They are part of His character.

Faithfulness and truth are qualities that must be shown over time. It does no good for me to say I have faithfulness. I’ve got to show my faithfulness. Not just for a day, or a week, but always. Partial faithfulness is not faithfulness. It is unfaithfulness. Partial truth is not truth. It’s the most common form of deception. Truth can stand the test of time and examination.

God has shown His faithfulness and truth without the slightest wavering for all time. I can count on Him 100%. That is reason for praise!

RESPOND // ORATIO

Pray in response to what the Lord has spoken to you.

Father, You are my one and only source for truth. You are faithful. Guard me against partial truth and unfaithfulness. Amen.
