Why did this verse get your attention? Make a simple observation from the text

Before Moses went and shared the whole incredible story with the people of Israel in Egypt, he first shared it with Aaron. If Aaron was going to be part of this redemption plan, Moses would have to win him over first. And he does.

A // APPLICATION

How can I apply this to my life today?

Every leader needs a team. Every leader needs a first follower. The importance of a first follower to what comes next cannot be over emphasized.

Aaron showed great faith as a first follower. Moses heard the crazy plan from God Himself at the burning bush. Yet he almost didn’t have the faith to participate. Aaron didn’t have that same convincing experience. He heard the plan from his brother, Moses. He still had the faith to take part in the plan.

It may have actually taken more faith for Aaron than for Moses.

The first test of leadership is winning that first follower. If a leader can’t do that and build a team, then perhaps that person is not a leader after all.
