Job 12:22 (NKJV) He uncovers deep things out of darkness, And brings the shadow of death to light.
O // OBSERVATION
Why did this verse get your attention? Make a simple observation from the text
God isn’t afraid of the dark. He isn’t confused by things that are hidden. He isn’t unsure about His steps. He doesn’t worry about the future. He doesn’t wonder what tomorrow will bring.
God doesn’t seek out counselors for wisdom on a topic. He doesn’t act with partial information. He doesn’t take a step and realize later it was the wrong step to take. He isn’t in a hurry.
God doesn’t make rash decisions or act impetuously. He doesn’t fly by the seat of His pants. He isn’t unprepared, caught off guard or surprised. God doesn’t wing it. He is never unsure of His steps.
God doesn’t pray for wisdom or direction.
A // APPLICATION
How can I apply this to my life today?
All of the natural processes of action and uncertainty don’t apply to God. All of the certainty I wish I had, He already has.
I can take comfort in His confidence.
In fact, I don’t need to know where I’m going as long as He does and I’m walking with Him.
Every possible fear and uncertainty needs to be considered in light of who He is, not who I am. There is nothing I face that shakes His confidence. I take comfort in that today.
God is not afraid of the dark.
P // PRAYER
Express yourself in prayer
God, I lean on You and draw my strength and confidence from You today. Nothing I face scares You. Amen.
