Daily Reading // Isaiah 43:1-21
READY // SILENCIO
Take a moment to quiet your mind and prepare your heart for your time with the Lord.
READ // LECTIO
Read the passage above up to three times aloud. Allow yourself to feel the words as they are read.
REFLECT // MEDITATIO
Now direct your focus on the words, phrases concepts or sentences that got your attention. What is God speaking to you today through His word?
Isaiah 43:1 But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called [you] by your name; You [are] Mine.
I am thinking this morning about all of God’s investment in me.
God created me. The very fact of my existence comes from God. Without God, my only option would be non-existence. No one can cause himself to exist. I owe my very existence to God.
God formed me. God made me the way I am. He formed me. He formed me and is now transforming me ‘from glory to glory’ (2 Cor 3:18). So the process is continuing.
God redeemed me. This means when I’ve made a mess of things, He has been there to save the day. He made me for a purpose. When I drifted from my purpose He has been there to get me back on track.
God called me. I am not a mistake. God affirms me by putting His name on me. This reminds me of Woody in Toy Story. He has the name of his owner, Andy, written on the bottom of his boot. God puts His name on me, because I belong to Him.
RESPOND // ORATIO
Pray in response to what the Lord has spoken to you.
Father God, I would be less than nothing without You. You give me life, hope, purpose and identity. You are truly all I need. I receive Your love and investment today. Amen.
