For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, “Not one of His bones shall be broken.” And again another Scripture says, “They shall look on Him whom they pierced.”
John 19:36-37 NKJV
These scriptures from the Word of God bring so much comfort and purpose to the otherwise terrible scene. The fact that John makes these connections for us really encourages us to know that this was God’s plan all along.
God’s Word can do that for me in the most difficult circumstances. The proper application of scripture can turn chaos into comfort. John was able to apply the proper scripture to this event. Am I able to do that? I need to know scripture if I’m going to see life from God’s perspective.
