Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the hearts.
Proverbs 21:2 NKJV
When I come up with a plan, a direction for me to go, and then decide whether it is the right way to go, I need to realize that my view on the issue is very narrow. I am using the information that is available to me. I’m using my limited judgement. The ideas I choose from are ideas that I am able to generate.
It is impossible to overstate the value of outside thinking and outside opinions. I need to be able to trust others enough to value their input and opinions. Otherwise, I only see my own vantage point and I think my plans are the best plans.
And, of course, God’s way is always the best way. Am I willing to defer to God’s way every single time?
Lord Jesus, Make my ways Your ways. Amen.
