Till an arrow struck his liver. As a bird hastens to the snare, He did not know it would cost his life.
Proverbs 7:23 NKJV
He did not know it would cost his life.
Sin is enticing. It appears pleasant and desirable. It attracts us by what it shows and by what it hides.
This says, “He did not know it would cost his life”, but he should’ve known. He could’ve known. Scripture warns him repeatedly ‘Do not commit adultery.’
We have plenty of warning against sin, but we get real dumb when it comes knocking. He knew better. I know better. In the instant the pleasure may seem to outweigh the pain of sin.
You know better.
