S // SCRIPTURE

Select a verse from today’s reading

Isaiah 50:6 (NKJV) I gave My back to those who struck Me, And My cheeks to those who plucked out the beard; I did not hide My face from shame and spitting.

O // OBSERVATION

Why did this verse get your attention? Make a simple observation from the text

What an amazing prophetic word. These words were written hundreds of years before Jesus came. I wonder if even Isaiah knew fully the meaning of this prophecy.

A // APPLICATION

How can I apply this to my life today?

I am reminded this morning, not just about Jesus’ sacrifice, but about His willingness to be sacrificed and mistreated.

It is a much greater sacrifice when it is within your power to end it. Jesus could have successfully resisted His pain and mistreatment. He even told Peter He could speak a word and have a legion of angels come to His aid.

He gave His back to those Romans who struck Him over and over again. He allowed His beard to be plucked and His face to be spit on. He could have easily ended it at any time.

I can fully trust Him after what He willingly endured for me.

P // PRAYER

Express yourself in prayer

Jesus, I know that nothing happens outside of Your purpose and plan. I can trust You and Your intentions for me one hundred percent. Amen.
