SCRIPTURE:
“At that time the Lord said to me, ‘Hew for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and come up to Me on the mountain and make yourself an ark of wood. And I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke; and you shall put them in the ark.’
Deuteronomy 10:1-2 NKJV
OBSERVATION:
God told Moses to make a couple of stone tablets, bring them up the mountain, and God would write on them. Moses did what he was told. Afterward the tablets would be placed in the ark for coming generations. God could have make the tablets Himself. In the movie, “The Ten Commandments” with Charlton Heston, God used a cool laser effect to make the tablets and write on them. He could’ve done that.
But He didn’t. Moses made the tablets and God wrote on them. God chose to partner with Moses. Those Ten Commandments represented a partnership between God and man. That’s often how God chooses to work.
APPLICATION:
God wants to partner with me. I’ll need to provide the stone tablets of my effort, ability and obedience. He’ll write the content.
PRAYER:
God, Write Your words on the tablet of my life today. Amen.
