How Long?

SCRIPTURE:

“My soul also is greatly troubled; But You, O Lord—how long?”

OBSERVATION:

David was used to going through tough stuff. He had gone through it before. Here he expresses his great question in times of difficulty: “How long Lord?”

APPLICATION:

I remember going through Army boot camp. I knew I could put up with anything since it was only eight weeks. In eight weeks I knew it would be over.

Usually I don’t have that information. I don’t know how long a season of difficulty will go before it ends. I have to trust God for that part.

Longsuffering is a fruit of the Spirit.

I’ve heard it said, “The only way to be longsuffering is to suffer long”. That seems right.

PRAYER:

Lord, I trust You in everything, even timing. Amen.
