Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.
Psalms 42:11 NKJV
I was reminded by this verse about the importance of hope, and being hopeful.
Hope requires a confidence that has not yet been seen or fulfilled. I have defined it as: A confident expectation of a preferred future.
But you can’t hope in something that is already true. It is something bigger, something better. Romans 8:24 says this:
Romans 8:24 (NKJV) For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?
I am grateful for the unseen, because without it I would have no hope. In every place of unseen or uncertainty, I will exercise my hope.
