As Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, “Follow Me.” So he arose and followed Him.”
Matthew 9:9 NKJV
The man mentioned here - Matthew - is the same person who wrote this gospel. I can’t help but think how personal and emotional it must have been for him to write these words and recount how he became part of Jesus’ story.
It is good for me to think back on the time when my story intersected Jesus’ story. And even better to share it with others as Matthew does. (And as John does in John 21:24)
I’ll think about my story and look for an opportunity to share it with others.
Jesus, You found Matthew. You found me. You changed my story forever. Hallelujah!
