He will bring justice to the poor of the people; He will save the children of the needy, And will break in pieces the oppressor.
Psalms 72:4 NKJV
There is a special place in the care and protection of God for those who are most in need: Those needing justice; The poor; Children; The needy; Those oppressed.
Oppressors who take advantage of those in need set themselves in opposition to God.
This verse reminds me of the blessing of weakness and of need. The apostle Paul said, “When I am weak, then I am strong.” If my need and weakness draws me closer to God, then bring it on.
One of the greatest curses in this life is strength and self-sufficiency. Having no need of God is the greatest need of all.
