Listen

Writer's picture: Pastor JimPastor Jim

SCRIPTURE:

“Now so it was that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭2:46‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

OBSERVATION:

As I read this I thought about how patient Jesus is. He listened to them. He didn’t need to, but He did.

Imagine all that Jesus heard from people that was just wrong. Yet He listened. When He corrected people He did it gently.

“Peter” He said, “before the rooster crows you will deny me three times.”

“If you knew Who you are talking to,” He said to the woman at the well, “you would ask me and I would give you living water.”

“Let him who is without sin cast the first stone” He said while He casually wrote in the dirt.

He is so gentle to deal with our misunderstanding and misinformation.

APPLICATION:

Am I gentle in dealing with others? Do I listen and ask questions rather than just blasting others with my opinions and information?

PRAYER:

Lord, make me more like You.
