Motivation

And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭13‬:‭3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

These are such self-sacrificing acts: giving everything away and even giving my life. What could possibly motivate this kind of action other than love?

No other motivator makes sense. A profit motive doesn’t make sense. Either does success, fame or manipulation - because you’re dead.

Love will empower me in selfless ways like nothing else will. Love is the only motivator that could have sent Jesus to the cross.
