SCRIPTURE:

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭28:7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

OBSERVATION:

David knew about strength and about shields. He had been in many battles. You don’t want to be in a battle with no strength and no shield. Strength is for offense and a shield is for defense. Both are needed in the midst of a battle. Where there is no fight or no threat, no strength and shield are needed.

David also employs the greatest weapon of all - praise!

APPLICATION:

I have never been in a battle like David, fighting Goliath or enemy armies. My battles look different. But there are definitely battles. Do I trust in my own strength or the strength that God provides? Am I secure behind His shield? Don’t forget to praise!

PRAYER:

Commander of the Lord’s Army, My confidence is in You. No weapon formed against me will prosper. Amen.
