New Beginning

SCRIPTURE:

2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. (‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1‬‬:‭2‬ NKJV)

OBSERVATION: At the very beginning of creation God spoke everything into existence. All the component parts were there but there was no form. That would come later.

Darkness was there, but so was the Spirit of God. The Spirit of God overcame darkness to give form to creation.

APPLICATION: The beginning of this new year, 2022, is like this picture of creation. All the component parts are laid out ahead of us but don’t yet have form. Form will come day by day.

Darkness lay ahead but so does the Spirit of God. There is no darkness in the days ahead that cannot be overcome by the Spirit of God. I have great hope for this year. Not because of the lack of darkness but because of the Spirit of God.

PRAYER: Spirit of God, Have Your will and your way in my life in 2022. Move into darkness and formlessness with Your creative power. I look to You and trust in You today.
