Luke 2:36 NKJV
What stuck out to me was the lives of those in this passage who genuinely served the Lord. Their lives weren’t easy. Mary was told a sword would pierce through her own soul. Simeon welcomed death. Anna had been a widow almost her whole life. Joseph disappears from scripture after this event.

I’m just reminded not to have a conditional ‘this-for-that’ kind of faith. I’m also reminded that this short life is nothing in comparison to eternity.
