Therefore concerning the eating of things offered to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one.
I Corinthians 8:4 NKJV
I think the argument went something like this: “We shouldn’t eat things offered to other gods.” “But we know there are no other gods. These idols are nothing more than pieces of wood or clay.” “Oh yeah.”
The concern became the conscience of others instead of taking part in worshipping other gods. You can be right theologically but wrong relationally.
Lord Jesus, Show me where I am not acting in love toward others. Amen.
