and begged Him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live.”
Mark 5:23 NKJV
This is not just about a young girl’s healing but also about Jairus’ faith journey. (Jairus: ‘one whom God enlightens’)
Jairus came to Jesus and had in his mind just how it would go. “You go touch her and she will be healed.”
It didn’t go the way he thought it would: interruptions, his daughter dies, etc.
Now they’re off script and his faith is really challenged. He’s no longer asking for healing but for resurrection.
Jesus does things His own way.
Am I okay when Jesus goes off-script? Instead of figuring Him out beforehand maybe I can allow Him to enlighten me.
Jesus, Do Your things in Your own way in my life today. Enlighten me. Amen.
