S // SCRIPTURE
Select a verse from today’s reading
Job 23:10 (NKJV) But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.
O // OBSERVATION
Why did this verse get your attention? Make a simple observation from the text
There comes a time when every argument, excuse, pretense and justification is stripped away. God knows everything. He knows what you did and why you did it. Those things will be tested by the righteous Judge of all the earth. What will the result be?
A // APPLICATION
How can I apply this to my life today?
It is said, “There are at least two sides to every story.” Perceptions are different. One person may be right in his eyes and other right in their eyes. Cultural considerations may be made. New math has to be applied - two plus two may not be four. In the world we live in everything seems grey.
Who is right and who is wrong? Is it a matter of opinion only? Is it the one who makes the stronger argument or has the louder voice? Is it whoever controls the media and public opinion?
Living in this world of grey can be very confusing and frustrating. Living to a shifting set of morals and ethics can be exhausting.
Like Job, there is only one Judge I have to please, that’s God. He is solid, certain, unchanging and unswayed by clever arguments. He knows fully. The facts are already before Him. His testing is fair and right.
Can I say, like Job, “When He has tested me I shall come forth as gold”?
P // PRAYER
Express yourself in prayer
Righteous Judge, I need to please no one but You. Give me wisdom, courage and direction in this day. Amen.
