Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
II Corinthians 12:10 NKJV
This brings us back to the fairness of God question: “Why do bad things happen to good people?”
What if I were convinced (like Paul was) that challenges in life were actually beneficial - to the plan of God and to my eternity? What would I choose? Comfort or character? Pleasure or purpose? Eternity or extravagance?
It comes down to a point of trust. I can either question if God is good or trust that He is.
Father, Give me the confidence and the character of Paul to trust in Uout goodness no matter what. Amen.
