Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do.

Jesus’ strongest words of rebuke were for the pretenders - those who talked and acted like they followed God but it was all a pretense. Their lives didn’t match up with their words. They talked the talk but didn’t walk the walk.
My relationship with God better be more than just words. Does my life line up with what I say I believe? Don’t be a pretender.
Holy Spirit, Show me if there is any inconsistent way in me and lead me in the way everlasting. Amen.
