Character that matters is proven character. It is not just stated character or hypothetical character. It is not the kind of character that is espoused and quoted from scripture verses. It is the kind of character that is put to the test. The kind of character that has weathered the storms. It’s the kind of character that is demonstrated when easier and more convenient options were presented.
Don’t be surprised when the tests come. That’s the only way to have proven character.
