Jesus sent out seventy. Obviously the disciples were part of this but not just the twelve. Many of these were probably with the 100 in the upper room. Many were part of Jesus’ ministry.
As they went from followers to those sent for ministry Jesus made sure they understood their primary relationship. It wasn’t as minister but as one forgiven and redeemed.
The joy of salvation should always lead the way in ministry. No one will enter eternity because they did such great things in ministry. No one will preach, teach or serve their way into heaven. Keep the first thing the first thing.
Jesus, I praise You that my name is written in Your book! Amen.
