Reset Expectations

SCRIPTURE:

And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.

‭‭Acts‬ ‭13:52‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

OBSERVATION:

They were filled with joy and the Holy Spirit! We can be filled with a lot of things, but what’s better than that? Nothing.

This missionary journey was not easy. They have faced opposition and conflict. If they had been expecting an easy road they would have been disappointed. But God showed Paul the difficulties he would face at the time of his conversion.

APPLICATION:

Paul wasn’t discouraged by the opposition because he had realistic expectations. If my expectations are unrealistic I will continually be upset and confused. No one said it would be easy. Don’t expect easy. Reset your expectations. Then you can be filled with joy and the Holy Spirit rather than gloom and disappointment.

PRAYER:

Jesus, You’re all I want. You owe me nothing more. Amen.
