SCRIPTURE:
But when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat, and fastened on his hand. So when the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped the sea, yet justice does not allow to live.”
Acts 28:3-4 NKJV
OBSERVATION:
Paul was standing by the fire with a poisonous snake hanging from his hand. The people present were quick to interpret the event. They had ‘no doubt’. This was judgement from God.
Paul shook it off.
APPLICATION:
People are quick to interpret life events. Too quick. Popular opinion can turn against someone based on misinterpretation. God, His motives and intentions, are assumed. False judgements are made.
I need to be cautious when assigning my interpretation to ‘why did this happen?’
When others form false opinions of me, shake it off.
PRAYER:
Jesus, You are good. I am Yours. Amen.
