Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.
Proverbs 16:24 NKJV
In 1 Samuel 14, King Saul commanded the whole army to abstain from eating. Everyone was starving. His son, Jonathon, didn’t know about the command. He came across a honeycomb and began eating it. His spirit and his countenance brightened.
Today many are starving for pleasant and encouraging words. The things most people hear are negative: commands, criticisms and corrections.
I have a honeycomb I can share with starving people. It is the honeycomb of pleasant words. I will look for ways to speak pleasant words - compliments, affirmation and life - to those I encounter today.
Jesus, You have spoken so pleasantly to me. Make me a honeycomb of pleasant to others. Amen.
