And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He has Beelzebub,” and, “By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.”
Mark 3:22 NKJV
The scribes of this day were some of the smartest guys around. They spent their time slowly and carefully copying and recopying scripture. They knew it better than anyone.
But they were wrong about Jesus. They were as wrong as they could be. They copied the Word of God. But when the Word became flesh and dwelt among them they didn’t recognize Him.
Smart people can be wrong. Don’t let titles and credentials fool you. The people who listened to Jesus for themselves were better off than those who trusted the opinions of the smart guys.
I’m going to listen to Jesus for myself.
