Suspicion Destroys Relationships

Writer's picture: Pastor JimPastor Jim

And the princes of the people of Ammon said to Hanun, “Do you think that David really honors your father because he has sent comforters to you? Did his servants not come to you to search and to overthrow and to spy out the land?”

‭‭I Chronicles‬ ‭19‬:‭3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This suspicion, which was caused by the ‘princes’, or the elite, cost Hanun and the whole nation of Ammon dearly. Instead of receiving the genuine kindness of David they caused a war.

Don’t assume the worst about people and their motives. There was nothing to substantiate their suspicions about David, only their own fear and insecurity. Suspicion made an enemy out of a friend.

Jesus, Take away suspicion, fear and insecurity from my heart. Amen.
