We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other,
II Thessalonians 1:3 NKJV
Those in Thessalonika who had received the gospel were demonstrating two important characteristics of believers: They were growing in their faith and; They showed love to one another. A confession of faith that doesn’t include those two things is questionable.
Is my faith growing? Do I show love to others or just care about myself? Those are important to ask.
I talked with someone the other day who seemed to feel like everyone in church should adjust for him, not the other way around. That is not the attitude of the Thessalonians.
How can I grow in my faith? How can I show real love and care to others?
