Psalms 145:18 (NKJV) The LORD [is] near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth.
O // OBSERVATION
Why did this verse get your attention? Make a simple observation from the text
This psalm is full of promises and reassurances. It is about Hod’s goodness, His grace, mercy, compassion and power. It is a beautiful psalm.
When the psalmist begins the sentence, “The Lord is ________” there are many wonderful ways to finish that sentence.
The one aspect of God in this psalm that jumped out at me today is “The Lord is near”. The Lord could be all kinds of things but if He is not near, those other things don’t matter.
The Lord is near.
A // APPLICATION
How can I apply this to my life today?
I pray for people with all sorts of needs. Sometimes the prayer is for healing, or direction, or wisdom, or a miraculous outcome. All of these can be points of specific prayer.
In almost every case I add this, “Lord, please be near to them. May they sense Your presence and Your nearness today.” When I know God is near everything else is okay.
P // PRAYER
Express yourself in prayer
Jesus, You came to be near to us. Be near to me today. I can handle anything as long as I know You are near. Amen.
