The Opposite Gate

Writer: Pastor JimPastor Jim

“But when the people of the land come before the Lord on the appointed feast days, whoever enters by way of the north gate to worship shall go out by way of the south gate; and whoever enters by way of the south gate shall go out by way of the north gate. He shall not return by way of the gate through which he came, but shall go out through the opposite gate.”

‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭46‬:‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Don’t go out of the temple the same way you went in. This is certainly not for efficiency purposes. It’s more efficient, more time-saving and easier to go out the same way you went in. But this isn’t about simple, easy and efficient. God is teaching us something about His sanctuary.

This is basically my prayer every Sunday: That we would not leave the same way we came. That we would be changed. That we would be different. Our goal as a church is not highest efficiency but great transformation.

God, change me today and every day. Amen.
